our first month

we did it! we celebrated our first month of marriage yesterday!

ok, yea, it's not that big of a deal... but I would like to recap what we did in our first month of marriage.  this will be fun to look back at years from now :)

9.29 - 10.3 -- Honeymoon bliss! (recap post tomorrow)

10.4 -- went bonkers setting up all of our fall decor. girl can't help it!

10.6 -- first date night as a married couple.  dinner and a movie with our friends, chad and elizabeth

10.13 -- annual family bonfire with the in-laws; late-night bonfire for brent's birthday.  love me some s'mores!

10.20 -- Boone ran away for 8 hours... hated it.  we figure that he tracked a deer (since that's what bloodhounds do) and lost his way around the farm.  he finally made his way back late that night :)

10.23 -- ridiculous late-night conversation about dog names.  this is what happens when we're both on the verge of sleep ;)

10.27 -- another bonfire... celebrating the engagement of our friends, chad and elizabeth!  y'all, i'm so excited for these two :)  all us girls have a ring now... nate started it all last decemeber!

we really have been blessed with a great first month!  nate is absolutely loving his new job and i have finished the TWS (my major project this semester).  i'm anxiously waiting my student teaching placement and am savoring every last moment i have with my sweet kindergarteners this semester :)

we have settled into our new routines just great.  i get up about 30 minutes before he does to shower then wake him up so he can do the same.  we share a bathroom (which can be a struggle for some) but we've managed to give each other enough space in the mornings to not cause a major meltdown.  strangely, that was a worry of mine ;)  while he's in the shower, i do my make-up then do my hair once he has finished showering.  it's working quite well for us!   the afternoons don't have a set schedule since college is never consistent.  i cook dinner for us most nights with the occasional food pick-up when i'm slammed with homework.  i always make sure that chores are done at night so i'm not feeling rushed in the mornings.  i am the primary "housekeeper" but nate will always chip in if i ask for his help - very thankful for that!  i still manage to work out in the mornings and truly love it!  it's the perfect start to my day.

we both have exciting things to look forward to next month!  halloween, thanksgiving, black friday, and other holiday shopping are at the top of my list.  on the other hand, nate's favorite time of the year starts next month -- duck season.  i foresee many early morning breakfasts for him and the boys ;)  fortunately, i love his friends and they know not to overstep my boundaries.  translation?  they clean up their messes or they get kicked out.

i wondered how the first month transition would go and it has truly been so smooth.  it's like we've been living together all our lives.  i thank God for this boy every day and can't imagine my life without him :)
