I broke my word and am posting a blog. But it is one to remind me of what really matters. The one thing I've learned this semester is that, at times, I am way too blessed to be stressed :) Thanksgiving is an even better time to remember all the many things I have been blessed with. I am going to compile a list for my own sake of blessings to see how great my life and God really are. I know I won't be able to remember everything I would like to include -- that itself is a blessing.
--My best friend and boyfriend who I would go crazy without.
--Sweet Lily who always manages to make me smile.
--My parents and sister for always being there.
--My extended family for their continued encouragement and laughter.
--My job.
--All the kids in the world for inspiring my career choice, and for, well, just being kids.
--The newest addition to my life this year, Baylie, for her unconditional love.
--WKU.
--Food, shelter, clothes, and a comfy bed.
--The outdoors.
--Finishing my 22 page, 5300 word research paper. :)
--God for his love and mercy.
--My Bible.
--My close friends who make life fun.
--Country music.
--The ability to wake up each morning, take life in, and enjoy it.
My life is amazing, without a doubt. Enjoy your Thanksgiving!

Announcement
Hello world. It has been over two weeks since I've found the time to post something on here. Life is moving at 100 miles an hour for me right now. I am drowning up to my eyeballs in homework and am away from home for almost 14 hours twice a week. This crazy pace leads me to my announcement. I am taking a break from blogging until the middle of December - aka: when the semster ends. There simply aren't enough hours in the day for me to do everything I need to get done... much less what I want to get done. I need to focus my time on my schoolwork right now. This semester has by far been my worst and is literally kicking my butt. Each week I think it will get better but I have yet to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I feel that making this "announcement" will make it more official to me. I am sorry to my devoted readers (Mom) - haha!
If something exciting happens I will post about it. I may load a few pictures along the way but I don't have the time to sit down and write. As we speak, I just finished reading 33 pages about research arguments and once I publish this I will begin studying for the 3 tests I have this week. Boo!
I don't want to be all negative today, though. I know this crazy semester will probably be the worst in my college career. I also know this is just part of what I have to endure to begin my teaching career, a dream of mine. I remind myself everyday of what I drag myself out of bed for and it is definitely worth it. So, until we meet again I hope you all have a wonderful Halloween and Thanksgiving. I am excited to know that once I do log-on again it will be extremely close to Christmas... what's not positive about that? :)
Sending you smiles and laughter :)

All is Right
Yes, people. All is right in the world today. Because today is the second day of my Fall Break. Pure bliss. I am sitting on my bed writing this at the moment. In fact, other than seeing Nathan at his house this morning, I really haven't left my bed. The bed is always nice to me :)
I thought I would share a few (other) things that are making me happy at the moment:
--We all know good jeans are hard to find, especially when God decides to bless you more in the bottom half of your body. That's a whole other conversation... back to the original topic. Anyway, one of my best friends has the same "situation" I do and recently recommended Gap jeans to me. She is in love with them and they look amazing on her. PLUS - they have a special going on right now where if you bring in an old pair of jeans to recycle, you get 30% off a new pair. They do NOT have to be Gap jeans. I am totally hitting them up soon!
--My mom and dad set up our fall scene tonight at home. Pumpkins and corn stalks sure make good decoration!
--Nathan and I are guilty of becoming addicted to a TV show recently. If you have never watched "Friday Night Lights" you are missing out. It has to be one of the most under-rated TV shows right now. We are halfway through season 2 (of 4). It is SO addicting!
--I have completed my Christmas list. I don't know what has gotten into me, I am usually not this prepared for Christmas but I have bitten the bullet this year. Is it too early to start playing Christmas music?!
--Finally, and maybe most importantly, Thanksgiving break is 5 weeks away from this Tuesday. Which means BLACK FRIDAY is coming up too... oh the giddyness is too much to handle!!
As for the rest of my Fall Break, I am pretty excited! I am having lunch with my best friend tomorrow. She is just beginning her first semester of Grad school at Bellarmine so I know she is ready for a break. I am so proud of her though! I plan to spend the remainder of my time with Nathan and Baylie girl. Those two are my favorites :)
Enjoy the weekend y'all :)

This Video = Me Happy
I have a video I would like to share. It is a song that I'm convinced was written to me.
Here's the story:
I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it, I mean to the point where I listened to it ten times in a row. I'm crazy, I know. Anyway, the song is basically about a guy wanting to know all the little (and beautiful) things his girlfriend does when he isn't around. It's one of the sweetest songs I've ever heard. I would like to point out the similarities of myself mentioned in this song.
#1: I slide down the hallway in my socks.
#2: I eat chocolate when I'm sad.
#3: I only paint my toenails because I bite my fingernails.
#4: I always talk to my Mom about nearly everything.
#5: I love laying on my bed and listening to my iPod quietly before I go to sleep.
Now I know that describes a lot of women in this country but even my boyfriend agrees. He heard this song on the radio the other day and literally called me to tell me how it reminded him of me. Nathan is not the type to do that so I know I'm not imagining the similarities. So then I fell in love with the song even more. :) With that being said I would like you all to listen to Blake Shelton's newest song, "Who Are You When I'm Not Looking."
I hope this random video makes you smile :)

Saturday Night's Alright
Happy Saturday and October, blogging world!
The weather has been absolutely gorgeous the past week. I have actually enjoyed walking up the hill... no sweating or panting from the crazy hot weather. It's definitely been a welcomed change! I love pulling out my hoodies and sweatpants and if I drank coffee, it would be perfect for that too. As you can tell, I am totally loving Fall! There is nothing quite like pumpkins, changing leaves, and crisp weather. Best of all is Fall Break :) It's gonna be a short week and I'm looking forward to my 4-day weekend next week.
Let's see what's been going on in my life the past couple weeks...
--Lily has finished T-Ball season. She did such a good job!
--Baylie has literally been growing like a weed. Our 17 week-old puppy is already to my waist when she stands on her hind legs. It's crazy to know she still has a long way before she's full grown. Lord, help us!
--I have been drowning in a sea of homework. I want my Fall Break to be free of school work so I'm crossing off as many things as I can before that time.
--I have recently become addicted to "Friday Night Lights." I rented the first season and have been watching it every chance I get. I love it!
--Last Sunday, and probably tomorrow, Nathan and I have went hunting. No, it's not the most glamorous thing in the world, but trust me when I say this. When you're able to sit in a tree with a person for hours with no outside communication and carry a conversation, it's a beautiful thing! I am so blessed :)
I don't have much else to say... just wanted to check in :) I hope you're all enjoying your weekend. I am just wanting to make it through Wednesday, then I am looking forward to a well-deserved break :)
Laugh about something today! :)

My Girl
I am delighted to have found a few minutes to post a few things on here. Last week was yet another whirlwind. I hate to complain though because it does go by faster that way. However, I was exhausted over the weekend and slept SO good!
After school on Friday morning I made a b-line for Nathan's house. I couldn't wait for some quality time with him and Baylie. We watched "House" DVD's (which I have become addicted to) and ate lunch before he had to start getting ready for work. Saturday morning I woke up and finished my homework - yay - and supported my little cousin that afternoon in his senior band competition. They did an amazing job! Then that night was date night for me and my boy :) We watched "Takers" and ate at Logan's. I was pretty satisfied with the movie so we had a great time! But my favorite part of the weekend was yesterday. We took Baylie to a pond behind Nathan's house and let her go to town. It was so much fun to watch. I swear she's part water buffalo. Here's a few pictures of our pride and joy (who just won't stop growing):
She loves the duck!

She loved this... but didn't like the bath so much afterwards. Ha!

I love this crazy, tragic, almost magic, awful, beautiful life
That title pretty much sums up my life in the past two weeks... it has been a whirlwind! School started and that itself is enough to wear me down. The transition from my be-lazy, do-nothing summer to the hustle of classes just about got the best of me! (Which is why I haven't posted lately.) Work has also been busy and since I am taking two night classes this semester I drive home at night some days... even more reason to be tired :) BUT, this week has already started off on a more low-tempo pace. Thank God! I can't handle being so stressed for a long period of time. I am looking forward to going to the tanning bed after work then going home for an afternoon of TV watching and relaxing. So there's my explanation for my lack of blogging. Now to an update in my life...
Labor Day weekend was absolutely beautiful! I went shopping with Mom, read some books, and mainly enjoyed the beautiful weather. I'm waiting for it to make a permanent return for Fall. :) I have noticed that the leaves are starting to change a little so I know it's just around the corner! Last week didn't consist of anything but school... blah! This past weekend I spent a lot of time with Baylie (who is still growing like a weed) and Nathan. Our time together lately has been very low-key and uneventful. Since we don't see each other Monday-Thursday (which is hard) it's nice to just catch up on the weekends. We've always had a relationship where we can have a great time doing pretty much nothing. I think it's because we're both pretty laid back people.
I was able to wake up Saturday morning and remember 9/11. Do you remember where you were? I do. I was in elementary school and we were called into our homerooms. My teacher at the time is one of the best I've ever had and I remember the look on her face. I just knew something was wrong. We prayed and had a moment of silence. Such a fitting thing to do. I wasn't old enough at the time to actually comprehend what was going on so it's important for me to watch the footage each year... it helps me remember the tragedy our country went through. I am so fortunate to live in this country. I hope you were able to take some time and remember that day.
I hope the past couple weeks have been great for all of you! As a sidenote I would like to add that my blogging patterns will be out of whack now that school has started... I promise your life will go on ;)
